The Best Decision Making Process You Can Find!

The Best Decision Making Process You Can Find!

Every day, every minute and every second, our mind is going a hundred miles per minute. So, whether knowingly or not, we all make dozens of major, minor, easy and difficult decisions on a daily basis. With so much going on inside your brain, it is very important that we try to ensure that the best decisions are made. Simply making a choice isn’t enough. You have to make sure it is at least going to end up the way you had hoped. It is also incredibly important to use the best decision-making process you can in order to ensure, for the most part, that the decision you make is actually the best one. Today, I am going to guide you through the best decision making process you can find!

“Decision making is the ultimate power.”

The Best Decision Making Process You Can Find

Here’s a pop quiz to kick things off: “There’s a bomb on a bus. Once the bus gets to 50 miles an hour, the bomb will be armed. If it drops below 50 miles an hour, it still blows up. What do you do? Oh, what do you do?”

We were really biting our nails as we waited to see what Keanu Reeves would do next in the movie Speed. What was going to happen and what decision would be the best one for Keanu Reeves? The whole world was waiting at the edge of their seats.

Based on research done concerning the thought processes of human beings, adults make an average of 35,000 conscious decisions daily.

“No way!” “That’s not possible!” “It’s unbelievable!” This is what you must be thinking, right? You might even be considering googling the facts, as we speak. There you go! You just added one more to the number of decisions you have to make today.

Decisions are made in an instant but in all honesty, our brains go through a number of processes before an answer is found. Below are a few ways to help you develop better decision-making skills thus helping you to make good choices.

The Best Decision Making Process You Can Find- Keep Your Emotions In Check

Sadly, there are many people who can’t handle or don’t even know what emotions they experience on an hourly or even minute by minute basis.

An old quote says: “Don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions”. Sometimes you are tempted to take instant action in order to meet the quick demands of everyday life.

This tends to happen because we compare our often flawed lives to that of a fake world where everything and everyone appears to be perfect.

In the need to fix an issue temporarily, you might become anxious or unhinged. Always try to be in control of your emotions because they have a huge influence on the outcome of your decisions.

Getting committed to a relationship or getting married is a huge step to take. It is an enormous life decision. If you’re just excited to tie the knot, then you might be doing it for the wrong reasons.

In search of an urgent job, if you pad your resume with overvalued skills that you do not actually have, you’ll be blameworthy for your unethical and dishonest behaviour; and it will leave a black mark on your career.

Many such decisions in life require a lot of devotion and patience. It is important that you sit and think about things clearly. You need to figure out a proper plan.

This might include research, budgeting or any other influential factors that will positively influence the decision-making process.

The Best Decision Making Process You Can Find- Look At All Your Options Together

We all have been given exams with questions containing multiple choice answers. Aren’t those always the easy ones? Have you ever wondered why?

Seeing a list of possible answers makes it easier for our brains to make a decision. Your brain understands that the answer to your problem MUST lie among one of the many choices given.

Whether you’re thinking of purchasing a new laptop or looking for places to save money, to make any final decision, I suggest you write down all of your options, even the improbable ones.

This will help you to review each possibility along with all possible outcomes. Take your time and you’ll soon be able to remove the wrong options from your list and come up with the best solution.

If you’re torn between too many possibilities, simply calm down your anxious mind and focus on the options worthy of your consideration.

Believe you can and make your life that much easier because of your smart decisions.

How many times have you forgotten to shout “UNO” when you’re just about to win? It’s happened to me at least 50% of the time.

This minor mistake, on our part, is nothing when compared to life’s biggest mistakes such as trusting the wrong person, pursuing the wrong career, or wasting time on the wrong deals.

We all make mistakes and this is mainly due to us not trusting ourselves and our instincts, while blindly trusting those of other people.

We doubt ourselves so much that we leave the remote control of our lives in someone else’s hand. Why do we do this???

Can you stop doubting and just believe in yourself from this point on? Next time, whenever you need to make a crucial decision, go with whatever feels right to you. Listen to your inner voice, follow your intuitions.

Stop allowing other people to make decisions for you. Decision making is a necessary skill you need to develop. Click To Tweet

Decisions, major or minor, safe or risky, do affect our lives. If you practice the tips I have suggested above, you can be a smarter decision-maker in no time.

So my question to you is: Have you ever made any huge life decisions? How do you make up your mind for daily life decisions? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Have a nice day.

Not rushing and taking time to think about what I will decide works best for me. Controlling my emotions and looking at all of my options as quickly as possible when I don’t have time to think things over work well for me too. We must trust that we will make the right decisions when we weigh the options. It’s best to look at each situation circumspectly and look at the consequences from different angles. Great post!
