Update: Hi guys, it has been almost three months since I have started blogging so I thought I would come back and do an update on this post and provide a bit more information. For some, the blogger recognition award is just a polite courtesy given to bloggers by bloggers. To me, this was the real beginning. It opened up so many other channels and ignited a passion I never knew I had. I am going to give you as much details about this award and about me as I can think of so I hope you enjoy the read. Here is my updated take on blogging and the blogger recognition award 2017.
“If you want to achieve something that you do not have, then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done before.”
It has just been a snowball effect since day one. I started my blog and wrote my first post, then I was nominated for the Sunshine Bloggers Award and now this. A big big thank you to LoneArt1st for this amazing opportunity.
The World Of Blogging
The world of blogging can be scary as heck. When I first entered it last November, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I thought it would be so easy, because anyone can be a blogger right? Boy was I wrong. Blogging takes effort, research, great photography skills and lots of perseverance. It is not something that you start doing today and by tomorrow, you become an expert. No. Blogging is a daily learning experience.
You need to understand the how, the whys and the whens. Many times, throughout the process of growing, new terms come your way and you have to start again from scratch. Receiving the blogger recognition award really made me understand that I could make a difference in this world. The award has helped me to meet so many beautiful, talented and dedicated men and women. The blogger recognition award introduced me to a corner of the internet I was not aware of but glad I came to know it.
What Is The Blogger Recognition Award?
Awards in the blogging industry are a lot more common than people think. A few of the more common known blogging awards are the sunshine bloggers award and the liebster award. Although these kinds of awards or nominations might not hold any value in the non-blogger world, for many of us they mean everything. These award nominations mean that someone has noticed our hard work and dedication. They mean that even though we might be new and our following might be small, we can do so much more than we believe,
The Blogger Recognition Award is one of the most awarded in the blogging industry. It encourages growth and community among bloggers, and enables newbies to gain valuable advice and exposure. Since the award is a community effort, it is always fantastic to participate and encourage others do so, but if you chose not to, that’s also quite okay.
I do love a good community effort so I always chose to participate. The blogging community can be super competitive and people will try just about anything to get ahead. I don’t speak for everyone and that is a good thing so I will forever focus on the good aspects of blogging.
What Is My Blog About And Why Did I Start?
Old Response: I have had a very difficult past with some experiences that have changed my life, I believe, for the better. It took me about 4 years to get back on my feet and fully embrace the woman I was meant to be.
I started my blog as a way to stand up and state that I was no longer afraid, and that I was ready to chase my dreams. But it has become so much more. Through the many struggles I’ve faced and overcome, I want to give back; to help others. By offering lifestyle tips, tricks and mainly advice, I want to help others live the best life they possibly can.
Update: I started my blog a little over three months ago. When I first started blogging, it was a way for me to express myself to the world. I had been through a terrible, scary experience a few years back and parts of me died at that time. I was weak, closed-off from the world and didn’t or couldn’t trust anyone. Blogging was a way for me to escape from the insecurities that held me captive every single day I was alive. Writing gave me the jump I needed when I had no self worth or self esteem.
My blog has since grown so much. I now use all the experiences I have had, painful and otherwise to help other young adults navigate life. It took a bit of soul searching but I now believe that my main purpose in life is to help others. When you read the posts on my blog, I want you to leave empowered, having learned a thing or two. Each post tackles a specific area of adult life because, honestly, adulting can be hard and sometimes you need convenient answers.
Advice For New Bloggers
Find Your Niche and Own It
As new bloggers, it can be tempting to write about everything and anything. Trust me, I was there. But it is very important that you find what sparks that passion inside and invest your time in becoming an expert in that field. Whether it is lifestyle, fashion and beauty, or something a bit more scientific, take the time to practice writing as much as you can. It’s your blog so you want to do what you can to take care of it and make it the best representation of who you are.
Stay True to Yourself and Your Audience
I know this might sound like a cliche but staying true to yourself is extremely important. In a world where everything is instant, it can be very tempting to sell yourself short and offer content just to get views. It can also be tempting to offer lackluster content in order to stay relevant. I encourage you to spend the time discovering your voice and producing quality content. It might take longer for you to get to the top but you will appreciate the journey there. At the end of the day, produce content that makes you smile.
Never Give Up
There will be times when your page views will dip and nothing you seem to be doing is working. This is when you need to dig deep. It is these times when you need to remember why you started this journey in the first place. Never give up because it is worth it. Your hard work does pay off.
